Martin Luther King Jr. Day: What's Open, What's Closed

Find out how to get around and where to go today.

 

Monday is the national Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday. Here's what you need to know to get around on Monday.

The city of Bellevue is holding its annual Martin Luther King Jr. celebration at Crossroads Bellevue shopping center today. There's also a benefit celebration at Kidz Bounce in Duvall.

It's been snowing and roads are slick, so if you are commuting, check out the Washington State Department of Transportation web pages to plan your route. 

Here is a list of what’s open and what's closed:

State Route 520 is re-open after a weekend closure for work on the freeway's lids over Evergreen Point Road and 92nd Avenue Northeast.

Sammamish City Hall is closed Monday. It will reopen Tuesday, Jan. 17.

Lake Washington School District and the Issaquah School DistrictClosed Monday. Will be back Tuesday. Jan. 17.

King County government: Closed Monday

US Postal Service: Closed Monday.

King County Library System is closed Monday and will be open regular hours Tuesday.

King County Metro transit: King County Metro Transit will have reduced service, and will be on snow routes on Monday.

Sound Transit:Will be on a regular weekday schedule, but routes may change because of the snow.Check Sound Transit's webpage for details.

State of Washington: Closed Monday.

Federal government: Closed Monday.

Garbage and Recycling: Garbage and recycling will be on its regular schedule in Sammamish; however, Allied Waste issued a press release that it's residential service may be reduced today in some areas due to the inclement weather.
