Actively Northwest – A Hyper-local Online Healthy Living Magazine – Launches in Pacific Northwest
New Magazine powered by LifeWise Health Plan of Washington encourages healthy living through fitness, food and inspiration.
MOUNTLAKE TERRACE, WA – June 25, 2013 – Today, LifeWise Health Plan of Washington officially unveiled its new online lifestyle magazine Actively Northwest. Created to inspire people to live healthy, active lives, this first-of-its-kind hyper-local publication features innovative fitness tips, healthy eating ideas, motivational stories, local photography and events for all Pacific Northwest residents.
“Through the launch of Actively Northwest we hope to inspire people in the Pacific Northwest to take the next step in their journey to living a healthier life – whether that step is big or small,” said Jim Havens, vice president of LifeWise Health Plan of Washington. “As a health plan, we’re excited to undertake this groundbreaking new approach for engaging people. Our goal for Actively Northwest is to provide localized health and nutrition information along with inspiring, relatable stories to encourage people to join our community of individuals and families striving to achieve our health goals.”
The Actively Northwest editorial team consists of a talented group of local experts in food, fitness and health, including a holistic nutritionist and a former senior fitness editor at Fitness magazine. In addition to these writers, several LifeWise Ambassadors will regularly contribute to the online magazine by sharing personal stories about fitness and health challenges they face in their own lives. LifeWise Ambassadors are a group of 27 LifeWise employees who are taking steps to become more active and are passionate about inspiring others to begin their journey toward healthier living.
