Ever consider how much difference one day can make? The ARAS Foundation teams up with the Mayor and city of Sammamish to help raise awareness and provide food that can literally make the difference in serving local families.
Form a team from school, place of business, place of worship, with neighbors or even with just your family to make a difference in our community. Volunteers hand out fliers to incoming shoppers requesting donations of "most-needed" food items. Shoppers respond generously, dropping their donations into waiting barrels as they exit the store. The City and ARAS Foundation provide the barrels, the fliers and other materials needed, as well as donation pickup throughout the day. You provide the heart and hands that ensure success.
Called "Mayors' Day of Concern for the Hungry" because it is sponsored by the mayors and city councils from municipalities all over King County, this day commitment can reap hope from hopelessness. Your single day's service will help ensure that no one in our community goes hungry.
