The Seattle/Western Washington U.S. Bank Employee Development Network will be hosting its annual Crayon Crusade from Wednesday, August 6 to Friday, August 17, 2012. The event will benefit over 10 different area organizations, including Issaquah based social service agency, Eastside Baby Corner (EBC).
Participants are encouraged to bring donations of school supplies to participating US Bank branches where collection bins will be held in employee areas. Residents in east King County will be primarily supporting EBC, and the supplies donated will be distributed throughout various school districts in the area.
EBC takes in donations of children’s clothing and goods from community donors as well as purchasing essentials such as baby food, formula, car seats, and diapers. In partnership with provider partners, EBC helps about 500 children every week, birth to age 12, with clothing, food, formula, school supplies, diapers and more.
“This event ensures that all children have access to the back to school essentials every child needs to succeed in school. If participants are interested in donating items beyond standard school supplies, we also welcome new or gently-used shoes and clothing at our warehouse during posted hours, or donate long pants at our 3rd Annual Pants Party on September 8, where we aim to collect 2,000 pants for kids. We greatly appreciate the generosity of participating US Bank branches, and the generous donors,” said EBC Founder and Executive Director, Karen Ridlon.
