Firehouse Park Opens Today!

Members of the Eastside Firefighters Benevolent Fund participated in a community service project this week in the Issaquah Highlands. The community park next to Fire Station 73 is being renovated and renamed, Firehouse Park. Off-duty firefighter Tom Craig, Kyle Walior and his son Jeff, Matt Cuaresma and Dave McDaniel, teamed up with the Issaquah Highlands Homeowners Association to pour a concrete pad for the new park picnic table. The Issaquah Highlands Homeowners Association supplied the materials and the Eastside Firefighters Benevolent Fund supplied the tools and labor to complete the project. “Giving back to the community we serve is a major focus of the Eastside Firefighters Benevolent Fund,” says Dave McDaniel, Board Chair for the benevolent fund and Battalion Chief with Eastside Fire & Rescue. The Firehouse Park, located in the Issaquah Highlands, opens today at 11:00 a.m. and crews from Fire Station 73 will be part of the opening ceremony, providing engine tours, giving out fire hats, badges, and fire safety coloring books. We hope you can join us for the fun!
