Adopt or Foster This Pet: Naleigh

Motley Zoo Rescue needs  fosters for two special dogs! A couple of weeks ago, we spotlighted Mutley, a dog in Taiwan in desperate need for a foster home in the United States. Now, he and his friend, Naleigh, are still waiting for fosters so that they can catch their flight on March 15. Otherwise, their flight will be cancelled. Naleigh is also a young, sweet dog similar to Mutley. Mutley is a lab/hound mix that is about 25 pounds but needs to gain a little more weight.

EXCERPT FROM THE MOTLEY ZOO WEBSITE: "Over the past two years, we've been working with a Taiwan rescue called Taichung Paws and on March 15th, they're sending us two great dogs. These are wonderful dogs with sad stories, just hoping for another chance at the life they deserve. As bad as the dogs can have it in shelters here, it is often far worse in other countries around the world. We will never ignore the pets in our own backyard, but we feel we have room for a few foreigners, as well! We appreciate all that Taichung Paws does for these pets."

AND A FINAL PLEA: "We also have been inundated with dogs locally in need. Hard economic times have left many of our four-legged friends abandoned in vacant homes or taken to the shelters, which are already overflowing with too many animals. As a rescue group, we have the wonderful chance to help, but we are only as big as our support system, and we can only save as many animals as we have foster homes in which to place them. Even giving it a shot once will be a step you won't regret taking - and that one pet you meet will be so appreciative that you saved their life! Consider fostering, and discover the rewarding 'work' of loving that extra furry face in your home."

Motley Zoo Rescue of Redmond is a nonprofit animal rescue organization run by volunteers. Motley Zoo Rescue does not have a shelter location, but instead houses all of their needy pets in foster homes.

Notes about adopting: All potential adopters fill out an application, are interviewed and have the opportunity to visit the dogs. Fees depend on the veterinarian care that has been given. All adoptable pets have vaccinations and are spayed, neutered, microchipped and flea-treated. Many have dental work done if they are older. Motley Zoo is always looking for foster homes. Fostering is a great way to "test out" your family to see if you are ready for a permanent pet.
