Adopt This Pet: Meet Mikey

Mikey is looking for his forever home.

Mikey is looking for his best friend! Will you take him to dog parks and give him a chance to explore all the fabulous dog-friendly places in the Great Northwest? Are you looking for a dog that will romp happily through a rainstorm while hiking up Cougar Mountain? Or are you wishing you had a buddy to take on a long road trip to the coast? If ou answered yes to any of these questions, this could be the dog for you.

Mikey is a cool terrier/pit bull mix. Pitbulls often get a bad rap because a few irresponsible dog owners created bad behaviors in their dogs. If you research pitbulls online, however, you'll find they have a loyal following of many animal rescuers who say time and again that they can be one of the sweetest breeds. This is the category Mikey comes under. He is a super social dog that seems to be great with everyone, even dog savvy cats. He is housebroken and enjoys romping with his dog friends.

Mikey is large and needs someone who can handle his strength, but he is a couch potato at heart...read on to see what his foster parents rave about:

Notes from Mikey's Foster Home: Mikey is a happy guy who is strong but pretty obedient. He is very eager to please and especially loves praise so this will be key in his continued training/education. Mikey is silly and loves a good play but when his foster sister isn't running around the yard with him, he's content to flop on the floor and have a good snooze. Mikey's favorite things include belly rubs and cuddling during a quiet evening with the family. He is very affectionate.

Mikey is a smart guy who is knows the commands for sit and down. He is learning stay and he is working on his leash manners. He will need a confident handler who is willing to keep working on obedience training with him so he can continue to be a stellar example of how wonderful pitbulls can be with proper guidance! Mikey is house trained and crate trained. He's a quiet guy, he only barks when he hears something outside that he is particularly concerned about. He's an easy going puppy who will become a wonderful family pet with training and lots of love!

Mikey was found as a stray and Motley Zoo agreed to help him find his forever home. He is neutered, microchipped, flea treated, dewormed, and is current on vaccines. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as transportation and general care costs. In addition, all pets adopted from Motley Zoo come with 30 days of free pet insurance provided by Shelter Care.
