Air Quality Advisory Issued for Cascade Foothills

Puget Sound Clean Air Agency is warning areas in the Cascade foothills that ozone pollution could reach "unhealthy" levels on Monday.

The Puget Sound Clean Air Agency (PSCA) has issued an air quality advisory for the Cascade foothills on Monday, warning that pollution could reach "unhealthful" levels as a high-pressure weather front holds local airborne pollution in place over the Seattle Metro area.

According to the advisory, ozone smog levels are expected to reach "UNHEALTHY FOR SENSITIVE GROUPS". Hot temperatures and vehicle pollution create smog in areas downwind of urban centers. Urban areas may have some "MODERATE" air quality today. Tuesday will be cooler and should generate less smog.
