All Sammamish Reads: Have You Read 'The Art of Racing in the Rain' Yet?

Here's how to get the book on eReader from KCLS.

Want to read The Art of Racing in the Rain before author Garth Stein's local appearance in September? Here is the latest from Sammamish librarian Sara Jensen:

  • The children's version, "Racing in the Rain" is available in ebook and eaudiobook with a very small waiting list.
  • The Adult novel, "The Art of Racing in the Rain" is only available in ebook versions (kindle and epub) with 20 copies and about 50 people in  line.  These are available through our Overdrive app or Ovredrive catalog off our DOWNLOADS page at kcls.org.
  • also has paperback copies that are non-cataloged for grab-and-go at the library. Availability can depend on the day, usually there is a few copies around. The library has given out about 500 copies so far of paperbacks alone so it is hoping people are reading the book.
  • The library's Mother Daughter book group had 12 attend and  had a great discussion. Librarian Sara Jensen is  hoping more kids come this Wednesday at 1:00: boys and girls, moms and dads are welcome.

If you haven't picked up your copy or downloaded from KCLS, don't hesitate! Garth Stein himself will appear at a culminating (is that coming so soon?)

Read, everyone, and discuss!

We had a really great time and are very grateful to EBC for all they do for our residents and theRead More Eastside community. Volunteering was a great experience and we hope other groups are inspired to help out!

We too, love having our Farmers' Market return! Opening day was a bit weather-challenged. ThankRead More you merchants for enduring the wet and cold for our new extended hours! What a wonderful sight will return to the plaza when the sunshine calls back all the families with happy, giggling children. Market day is a date of dinner out (side) & shopping (vegetables, fruits and now HedgeHog Toffee) with my husband. Doesn't get much better than that! SEE YOUR THERE! Susan Gerend
