Arcadia Publishing Seeks Local Historian or Writer to Work on Sammamish Photographic History Book

The company needs someone to track down historic photographs of Sammamish.

Arcadia Publishing, which produces photographic books about local and regional history, is seeking a historian or writer who is familiar with Sammamish to work on a book about the city.

Here is a note from Coleen Balent, acquisitions editor for Arcadia Publishing.

We are looking for a local historian interested in authoring a photographic history on Sammamish. Arcadia finances the entire authorship process—from editorial assistance, to production, to sales and marketing. What we frequently tell authors is that their cost is the 'sweat equity' and time required to locate between 180 and 240 vintage photographs and write their corresponding captions. We do not require authors to invest a penny. We pay author royalties and allow organizations to purchase books for resale which can be lucrative for fundraising endeavors. On average, authors take between six and nine months to complete their work. However, we can provide up to eighteen if necessary.
