Original Post, Monday 12 p.m.: Several dozen homes in Sammamish and Issaquah lost power over the weekend as gusty winds and rain knocked down power lines across the Puget Sound.

Local energy provider Puget Sound Energy reported 36 outages affecting 381 customers in North King County as of 10 a.m. Monday morning, according to a PSE press release.

At least 34 crews are closely monitoring conditions this morning. As breezy conditions continue and weather changes, the number of customers impacted will fluctuate. Updates will be posted to twitter.com/PSEtalk when known.

Hardest hit was neighboring Bellevue when a PSE substation failed on Saturday morning, leaving over 6,000 without power in the Someset and Lake Hills neighborhoods. Dozens of homes in Newcastle, Kirkland, Renton and other communities on the Eastside were also affected.

There are currently about 4,000 PSE customers without power at more than 111 locations. On Sunday, more than 200 locations were affected.

And difficult weather conditions continue. Weather system passed through the Orting area Monday morning and knocked out a transmission line serving two substations effecting 7,600 customers; power has been restored to most of the customers in that area.

PSE is fully staffed with 87 four-person, 12 two-person power line crews, 35 tree crews, and approximately 75 service linemen ready to respond to power outages. PSE expects customers experiencing storm-related outages to have power restored by 5 p.m. today. To report a power outage, call Puget Sound Energy at 1-888-225-5773.
