From Government News to High School Sports, Sammamish had a Busy Week of News - A Moment to Review (as in Week in Review)

High school basketball teams won and lost in playoff games, the Kiwanis hold a swing dance and an Eastside Catholic swimmer makes state history.

The news continued to roll in on the Sammamish Plateau in the past seven days, which is understandable because residents stay busy.

Of course, being active in life is a good thing. Here's a quick look back:

Monday: The start of the week included Valentine's Day and one Sammamish man clutched flowers and balloons for his wife, Sally. He wanted to wish her the best.

Patch real estate columnist Joan Probala reminded homeowners about tax credits since, well, tax season is upon us.

Yes, the Seattle Bike Swap happened on Sunday, Feb. 13. Yes, it was in Seattle. But Sammamish Patch likes bikes and bike gear. And yes, Sammamish residents like to pedal - in fact, many participate in triathlons.

Tuesday: Sammamish Patch posted a note in the feature about Mutley, a dog in Taiwan, who needs some Seattle-area love.

Patch.com sites in the Seattle area also let readers know about the State Route 520 tolls and noted places where to buy passes.

Wednesday: Busy day with Moms Day features, including a parenting column (topic was finding a good parent-tot group) and the "Whiz Kids" column (two young talented musicians from ).

Sammamish Patch also had the crime roundup news in the Sammamish police blotter and posted notes from the city of Sammamish, which were taken at the Suncadia Resort retreat from earlier this month.

Sports remained big. Sammamish Patch posted two articles: The girls' basketball team beating Inglemoor High School and the boys' basketball squad doing well against Woodinville High School.

Thursday: A Sammamish resident took his 1926 Bentley out for a spin and Sammamish Patch was there for the weekly photo gallery feature.

Sammamish Patch also had its House Hunt feature, which lists for free - yes, you read that correctly - open houses for the upcoming weekend.

Friday: Sammamish Patch posted two sports updates from Thursday - the Skyline boys' basketball squad loss to Newport High School and the Eastlake Lady Wolves beating Issaquah High School in girls basketball.

At the Sammamish Family YMCA, about 35 people joined hands and moved their feet at a swing dance event sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Sammamish.

In , a regular feature, contributing writer suggested Woodinville wineries as, yes, a great and nearby place to visit. That is, when you need to get away from all of it for a moment, even if it's an hour or two.

Saturday: There was news of the Friday night basketball game in which the Skyline girls lost to Woodinville High School. 

Sunday: Sammamish Patch brought you news about swimmer and his accomplishment of making state history at the championships. Eastlake High student Edward Kim also does well.

High school wrestlers from Sammamish went to Tacoma with determination - but only one placed.

It was a busy week - but a good one.
