Get Out: Sammamish Weekend Planner

It’s Thursday, and you have no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

Sammamish Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your work-done-outta-here time. Check out our picks for the activities to hit and new places to explore.

• Where/When: 6 and 8 p.m. on Friday at Harry Lang Stadium in Lakewood. 
• Why Go: With two teams in the state semi-finals, Friday will be huge day for Sammamish area soccer. First, the  Wolves will take on the Kentridge Conquerors at 6 p.m. And then at 8 p.m., the Spartans will face the Stadium Tigers. Here's hoping for an all-Sammamish State Championship Game!
• Cost: Tickets are $9 for adults and $7 for seniors and students.
• Note: Keep an eye on the Friday games. If Eastlake wins, the team will play on Saturday at 4 p.m. in the championship at the same stadium. If Eastlake loses on Friday, the team will play at noon for third place. Skyline will follow the same game slots, depending on how the team does on Friday.

• Where/When: 7 - 10 p.m. on Friday at .
• Why Go: Looking to get a little more excitement out of your weekend? Come out to Marymoor Park this Friday night and catch the last pre-season race of the Marymoor Velodrome track racing series. Watch these world class athletes compete under the spotlights from the stands or you can hang out in the grassy lawn. There's even a beer garden you can visit.
• Cost: Admission is $5 but people ages 16 and under are free.

• Where/When:  6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at  in Redmond.
• Why Go: In celebration of Seattle Beer Week, Malt & Vine is hosting a beer tasting on Friday that will feature beers from the Pike Brewing Company along with paired meats and cheeses. Then on Saturday, help Malt and Vine celebrate its 4th anniversary and get your first taste of their newly-released 4th anniversary beer, brewed by Black Raven. 
• Pricing: $5 tasting fee.

• Where/When: 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturday at  in Woodinville.
• Why Go: There's lots of fun stuff going on at Molbak's for all you gardening enthusiasts this Saturday. From 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. enjoy a seminar with David Gordon, author of The Secret World of Slugs and Snails. Then from 1-2 p.m. another seminar, this time with the ultra-popular Ciscoe Morris and his book Creating a Symphony in the Garden. Be sure to stick around after the seminars to get your books signed. In addition to the seminars, there will be a Table-Side Q & A session featuring the Seattle African Violet Society.

• Where/When: 9 p.m. on Saturday at  in Kirkland.
• Why Go: The Seattle International Film Festival is holding a free outdoor screening of everyone's favorite, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me. Be sure to keep an eye on the weather though. If it rains, the movie will be rescheduled for Saturday, June 4. Currently, the weather forecast calls for a 30 percent chance of rain.
• Pricing: Free.

• Where/When: 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. Friday through Monday at Seattle Center.
• Why Go: If you're a fan of folk music, this event has probably been on your radar for weeks. And rightly so, it's one of the largest free folk festivals in the country and it's all going down this Memorial Day weekend at Seattle Center. The annual Northwest Folklife Festival will feature over 7,000 diverse performers including local favorites, Caspar Babypants and The Not-Its! who both have performed at the  earlier this year. Northern Departure, a Renton band, will play on Sunday evening. The event will also host a variety of participatory dances, countless workshops, craft events, food vendors and more.
