Garage Sale and Photography Exhibit

  • Where/When: 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Friday (garage sale) and 6 p.m., Friday (photography exhibit).
  • Why Go: , you're in luck. Until 4 p.m. on Friday, swing by the Timberline Ridge neighborhood in Sammamish (2759 204th Lane NE) to see what's for sale. If you like photography shows, artEAST in Issaquah is having an opening for "Your Best Shot II" exhibit. Also at Providence Marianwood, in Issaquah, you can see the "Sammi Splash" art show.
  • Cost: Free to attend

Northwest Artists in Action at Molbak’s

  • Where/When: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at  in Woodinville.
  • Why Go: Northwest Artists in Action is a local group of talented, fine artists who show their art at public venues, and create it there as well. This is an opportunity to interact with the artists as they work.
  • Cost: Free

  • Where/When: 9:30 p.m. Friday outside  
  • Why Go: Has your teen or pre-teen got a case of the "I'm bored" summer blues? If so, send 'em to the Redmond Youth Partnership Advisory Committee's screening of Will Smith flick The Pursuit of Happyness this Friday evening. Even adults can get behind the idea of a free outdoor movie to cap (what is supposed to be) a beautiful summer day.
  • Cost: Free

Camlann Summer Village Festival

  • Where/When: Noon-6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, Camlann Medieval Village in Carnation
  • Why Go: Camlann is a medieval village in Carnation that recreates daily life in times of old. This is not a renaissance/fantasy fair, but a historically accurate living village of life in medieval times. There is a black smith’s shop, candle making, plays, music, feats and entertainment. Costumes may be rented for $10 for children, $25 for adults.
  • Cost: Children (6-12) $6, Adults $10

Seattle Seafair

  • Where/When: All weekend long, Gennessee Park in Seattle
  • Why Go: Seafair weekend means two things for Seattle-area residents: Traffic headaches and a boat-load of family-friendly activities. Some of the highlights include the U.S. Navy Blue Angels demonstrations and hydroplane races. Click here for a complete schedule, and be sure to time your bridge crossing carefully as both and will experience periodic closures during the festival.
  • Cost: Free (but there's an admission cost to the main part of Seafair)
