Beaver Lake Triathlon

  • When/Where: Begins at 7:45 a.m. Saturday at , Southeast 24th Street and 244th Avenue Southeast.
  • Why go:Cheer on your friends, neighbors and relatives, as they swim, bike and run at this very local event for endurance athletes from Sammamish and the area.
  • Cost: Free to watch

Sammamish Walks

  • When/Where: 10 a.m. Saturday at Grand Ridge Trail.
  • Why go:Join other Sammamish residents and Sammamish Parks Commissioners Rena Brady and Judy Petersen on this two-mile hike, which is expected to take two hours. Organizers ask that dogs be left at home but bring your camera. To register and for specific location information, visit the city of Sammamish website.
  • Cost: Free


  • Where/When: 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at
  • Why Go: Everyone gets to be a kid again at Redmond's first-ever Great Day of Play this Friday outside city hall. The afternoon will be completely dedicated to getting outside and having fun; activities include a youth 3-on-3 basketball tournament, 5K run, skateboarding demonstrations and a special appearance by Seattle Sounders player Steve Zakuani. Open Mic Night at Redmond Arts in the Parks

  • Where/When: 7 p.m. Friday at
  • Why Go: After you're done working off some steam at Great Day of Play, stick around for the closing night of Redmond's concert series. This Friday is Open Mic Night hosted by SoulFood Books' . Interested in participating? Check out this list of FAQs.
  • Cost: Free

  • Where/When: Noon to 9 p.m. Friday-Sunday at Dusted Valley Wine & Art Gallery, 14465 Woodinville Redmond Road NE in Woodinville
  • Why Go: Most of the wineries in Woodinville close at 5 p.m. (unless there is a special event happening) Dusted Valley is trying to get in on the “date night” crowd by staying open later in the evening. The winery also has corkage specials with neighboring restaurant partners.
  • Cost: $8 tasting fee, waived upon purchase of a wine bottle.
