Grab & Go Kids Sammamish-Issaquah: Updated Easter List and More...

Here are some of the fun events coming up for families this week and next.

Some of your kids are halfway through spring break, the rest looking forward to it next week, and you know what that means--it's Easter time!

We've rounded up some of the upcoming family events around Sammamish and Issaquah, and we know there are more, so feel free to share info with your neighbors in the comments.

April 5

Ok, this one's actually for parents, but it's a great way to be involved with one of the most important issues we have to think about for our kids--education. The Issaquah Schools Foundation, in coordination with Microsoft, is bringing this screening to parents (Lake Washington parents welcome also) free on Thursday, April 5 at 6:30 p.m., as part of its .

April 6

It's not officially in our towns, but if your kids are on break this week, why not take advantage of Free First Friday at the Bellevue Arts Museum. It's a fun place, and you can't beat the price! Admission is free from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. all day, so even if your spring break doesn't start until next week, you can take advantage of some after school arts & culture family time.

April 7 and 8

Easter Egg Hunts: We've learned about a few more Easter Egg Hunts and added them to our handy planning guide, so take another look before the Bunny arrives.

April 4-April 11

There are lots of great kid, teen, and family events coming up this week at the Sammamish and Issaquah libraries, including the  (there are still spots open for the 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. shows, but be sure to register!).

To help you out, we've sorted the events on the KCLS calendar to show all the kid, teen, and family events at both libraries and the KCLS Service Center in Issaquah for the next week. See the full list here.

Free Developmental Screenings at Encompass Issaquah

Do you have questions about the development of your infant, toddler, preschooler or kindergartener?

Through a parent report questionnaire, Encompass will screen children from age 3 months to 5 years old. Screenings will take just 10 minutes per child. Results will be available immediately. Parents will come away with a list of recommendations regarding motor, speech, self-help, social and cognitive skills.

We too, love having our Farmers' Market return! Opening day was a bit weather-challenged. ThankRead More you merchants for enduring the wet and cold for our new extended hours! What a wonderful sight will return to the plaza when the sunshine calls back all the families with happy, giggling children. Market day is a date of dinner out (side) & shopping (vegetables, fruits and now HedgeHog Toffee) with my husband. Doesn't get much better than that! SEE YOUR THERE! Susan Gerend
