Great Escape: Take in a Little Live Jazz, Near Sammamish

Many consider this place to be the best kept secret in Issaquah.

You don't have to go all the way to New Orleans or Seattle to hear live Jazz. It might surprise you, but tucked away in the Providence Point Community of Issaquah is a live jazz and blues gem: Bake's Place.

Bake's website describes it well: "Different artists play live jazz or live blues sets every Friday and Saturday night, making each experience unique to the lucky group seated in what owners Craig and Laura Baker refer to as the 'Living Room.' The Living Room seats 72 comfortably in a candlelit, velvet-draped room, allowing patrons to feel like private guests at a luxurious dinner party."

Bake's Place is open Friday and Saturday nights for dinner and a show. Guests can come for both or arrive just for the show ($20). Alternatively, enjoy a delicious Sunday morning breakfast while listening to the acoustic nylon guitar music of Michael Gotz. New to Bake's is the monthly Sunday Dinner Theme Show. The shows pair music and dinner around a special theme. Check their website for hours and more  details. Reservations are required for all performances. Dinners are pre-ordered when the reservation is made as a way to make the evening flow. Drinks, appetizers and desserts can still be purchased without pre-ordering.

Bake's Place is considered to be one of the Pacific Northwest's premiere Jazz  Supper Club. It was named as one of the "Top 100 Jazz Clubs in the World"  by Downbeat Magazine. The picturesque setting and top musical jazz and blues guests make Bake's Place the place to be on Friday and Saturday nights.  Whether you are a longtime fan of jazz, or just want to be open to new experiences, a night at Bake's will give you the relaxing evening you have been looking.
