One Click: Weekend Guide From Sammamish Patch

There are things to do in Sammamish and the Sammamish area on Saturday and Sunday.

It might have been that goregous, warm sun on Friday that prompted us at Sammamish Patch to pull out "One Click," dust it off and post it online.

Of course, it has new offerings for this weekend.

It's the quick, easy guide of things to do in and around the Plateau. If we missed something, let us and others know in the comments section.

There's much to do in Sammamish and the area. So, as they say, let's get started:

REI Anniversary Sale: It's going on until May 30 - and it's the biggest sale for the outdoor gear store for the year. If you're interested, there are REI stores in Issaquah and Redmond.

Sammamish Patch typically doesn't post commercial offerings such as this. But there's so many people in Sammamish who love the outdoors and shop at REI, we thought we'd spread the word.

The Not-Its!: The band for kids will perform twice on Saturday at the - 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Relay For Life at Skyline High School: Come support area residents as they walk at on Saturday, starting at noon, to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Last weekend, there was a  at .

Bye, Bye, Birdie: Catch the musical at Skyline High School on Saturday and Sunday evenings. Support high school students and see the show.

King County Vehicle Auction: Yes, car, truck, bus and heavy equipment buffs. It is back. It will be held Saturday in Renton, starting at 9 a.m. Address: 3005 NE Fourth St. Need a 1998 Chevrolet one-ton flatbed or a 2003 Toyota Prius? Bring your money.

Washington State Girls Lacrosse Tournament: It will be held Saturday at . The Girls Division II state championship starts at 11 a.m. The Girls Division I state championship starts at 2 p.m.

Sammamish Walks: At 10 a.m., there will be a walking tour of , led by Nan Gordon. Come learn about the park's history.

House Hunt: Of course, there will be houses for sale that you can tour on Saturday and Sunday. Here are seven of them, with links to median real estate prices.

Sammamish Hills Lutheran Church Rummage Sale: It will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Proceeds will help support a high school mission trip to Guatemala in 2012.

Providence Marianwood Spring Estate Sale: This event will be held in nearby Issaquah (but on the Plateau) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. By shopping at the estate sale, you help the elderly.

Get Out: Plus, in addition to these events, there's the regular feature from Sammamish Patch that looks at fun things to do in the Sammamish area. There's a pet fair, fashion show (for dogs) and gathering in Redmond, starting at 10 a.m.

Play Date!: This regular feature on Sammamish Patch highlights things for families to do - as well as some nice deals. Case in point (things to do): There's a mother-daughter book club at the Sammamish Library on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Tour de Cure: King County's Marymoor Park, near Redmond, will be the site of a bike ride to benefit the American Diabetes Association. Bicyclists might be pedaling around Lake Sammamish.

"Mary Poppins" in Seattle: If you like live Broadway shows, head on over to the Paramount Theatre to see this classic.

We too, love having our Farmers' Market return! Opening day was a bit weather-challenged. ThankRead More you merchants for enduring the wet and cold for our new extended hours! What a wonderful sight will return to the plaza when the sunshine calls back all the families with happy, giggling children. Market day is a date of dinner out (side) & shopping (vegetables, fruits and now HedgeHog Toffee) with my husband. Doesn't get much better than that! SEE YOUR THERE! Susan Gerend
