Yesterday, a kind-hearted Sammamish woman took a little dog to All Critters Animal Hospital after he was hit by a car on 228th Avenue near Pine Lake Plaza. The owners were no where to be found, and the seriousness of the dog's injuries required surgery.
She emailed a photo around to her friends, and one of them sent it here to Patch. In short order, the info was shared over a dozen times on Facebook and lo and behold, someone recognized the photo from lost dog flyers in the neighborhood, took down the phone numbers of the owners, and contacted us.
In the meantime, the folks at All Critters determined that the dog's injuries were too serious to put off surgery, so he was taken in for resetting of his femur and a lot of work to repair his hip by Dr. Gerald "Jerry" Bishop. The clinic staff said they just couldn't bear to see him possibly have to be put down due to delaying treatment.
He was recovering this evening just about the time his owners came in to the clinic. Though the pup, whose name is "Little," is not out of the woods yet and it's too soon to tell if he will have any permanent nerve damage, he's been reunited with his family.
A big shout out to the community for saving Little's life and reuniting him with his people.
