Play Date! Great Family Events and Deals in the Sammamish Area

Here are fun activities and some sweet deals for the whole family this upcoming week.

EVENTS FOR FAMILIES, Sept. 28 – Oct. 5

Sept. 28: Toddler Story Time at the

  • 10 to 10:45 a.m. and 11 to 11:45 a.m. (same program each time)
  • For toddlers ages two to three with an adult caregiver. Siblings are welcome. Share songs and stories with your active toddler.
  • Cost: Free

Sept. 28: Free Kids Activity at the

  • 4 to 8 p.m.
  • Enjoy the last day of the market for the season. The kids activity this week is making your own stress balloon. Enjoy live music from the Double Barrs, featuring swing, jazz and standards.  Learn more about featured nonprofit organization, Seattle Tilth.
  • Cost: Free

Sept. 29: Preschool Story Time at the 

  • 10 to 11 a.m.
  • For children ages three to six with an adult caregiver. Siblings are welcome. Enjoy stories, music and activities designed for creative learning and building early literacy skills.
  • Cost: Free

Sept. 29: Meet Author Jez Alborough at the

Find out what's happening in Sammamish-Issaquahwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

  • 6 to 8 p.m. Arrive early as space may be limited.
  • Meet Jez Alborough, author and illustrator, of over 30 picture books for children including the much beloved Hug! and Yes!, Where’s My Teddy, My Friend Bear, it’s the Bear, Duck in a Truck and Fix-it Duck. Enjoy refreshments.
  • Cost: Free. Books are for sale during the event from the Secret Garden Bookshop. Allborough will be able to sign books.

Oct 1 and 2: Issaquah Salmon Days in Downtown Issaquah

  • 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Booths, five stages of live entertainment and vendors selling food and beverages and all sorts of salmon-related fun. The grande parade with over 90 entrees will be on Oct. 1 at 10 a.m.
  • Parking is challenging anywhere near downtown Issaquah this weekend, so consider taking the shuttle from the Issaquah Highlands Park and Ride to the festival. A map showing shuttle drops, the kids stage and all the booths is available online
  • Cost: Free
