Aug. 31: Movies at the Museum at the

Sept. 2: Manga Night at Museo Art Academy in Issaquah
6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the academy’s new location at 111 Front St. in downtown Issaquah.
For ages 10 years old and up. Students will enjoy a pizza dinner while learning to improve their Manga drawing skills with instructor Amanda Lien.

Sept. 3: Guided Canoe Trip Through the
8:45 a.m. to Noon
Explore the beautiful Mercer Slough Nature Park by water with your family. Bellevue Park Rangers lead the canoe trip that begins and ends at the Boat Launch. You’ll see how this amazing ecosystem functions as you travel into the heart of Mercer Slough Nature Park, a 320-acre wetland. With a little luck, you may catch a glimpse of the otters, herons, turtles and other wildlife of Mercer Slough. Kids must be age five years old and up and there must be one adult caretaker present for every two children. Some paddling experience required and participants are required to paddle a distance of four miles. Questions? Call 425-452-7225.

Sept. 4: Guided easy hike in the Cascades
10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Take your family on a guided two-mile hike to Twin Lakes and back with a USDA Forest Service expert through old-growth forest and learn about the history of the area, plants, wildlife and trees. Wear sturdy shoes or boots and bring a daypack containing sunscreen, water and extra clothing. No dogs are allowed on this hike.

Sept. 7: Free Kids Activity at the
The kids' activity for this date is making a beaded chenille stem. String beads onto pipe cleaners to create a key chain, bracelet or whatever comes to mind. Enjoy live music from Arts for Hearts. Learn more about featured non-profit organizations Providence Marianwood and the Assistance League of the Eastside.

Sept. 7: Free Classes at the Orange Blossom Society in Redmond
The in Redmond is offering free enrichment classes Sept. 7 and 8 for kids ages one to ten in art, yoga and creative free play with structured activities. You can view the class descriptions online.
