Relay For Life Events in Sammamish Raise More Than $350,000
There were two events to support the American Cancer Society - one at Eastlake High School and another at Skyline High School.
Nearly 1,500 people from Sammamish and the area helped raise more than $357,000 for the American Cancer Society during this month's Relay For Life events in the city.
The Relay at on May 14 and 15 attracted 626 people, who made up 65 teams. That event collected more than $117,000, as of Wednesday, according to Adam Hawkins, an event organizer.

The city's other Relay, known as the Issaquah Relay For Life, took place at on May 21 and 22. That included residents from Issaquah and Sammamish.
Donations stood at $240,000 as of this week, Aimee Martin of the American Cancer Society in Seattle, said in an email. The Issaquah Relay had 78 teams and 860 participants.

People are still donating to the Eastlake and Issaquah events. So, the totals are likely to grow. In total, the two events had 143 teams.
