Trampolines Recalled Due to Injury Hazard

The trampolines were sold at Sports Authority nationwide.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Wednesday announced a voluntary recall of Sportspower trampolines sold at Sports Authority stores nationwide. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately, the Commission warned.

Approximately 23,400 of the 14-feet trampolines were built by Sportspower, Ltd., of Hong Kong and some have faulty legs that can move out of position and puncture the jumping area. These pose a risk of injury, including deep, penetrating puncture wounds, cuts and bruises to children and adults on the trampoline.

However, no injuries have yet been reported.

The trampolines are 14 feet in diameter and sold with an enclosure net. The trampolines have blue or light blue fabric on the safety matting and enclosure pole sleeves. The model number is marked on the packaging and instruction manual. “Parkside” is printed on the enclosure net.

The trampolines were sold at Sports Authority stores nationwide from April 2007 to May 2012 for about $540.

Consumers with the recalled trampolines should contact Sportspower to receive a free repair kit at (888) 965-0565, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. PST Monday through Friday, online at www.sportspowerltd.net or email customerservice@sportspowerltd.net for more information.

There's a Sports Authority store in Issaquah at 1185 NW Gilman Blvd., in the Town and Country Shopping Center.

We too, love having our Farmers' Market return! Opening day was a bit weather-challenged. ThankRead More you merchants for enduring the wet and cold for our new extended hours! What a wonderful sight will return to the plaza when the sunshine calls back all the families with happy, giggling children. Market day is a date of dinner out (side) & shopping (vegetables, fruits and now HedgeHog Toffee) with my husband. Doesn't get much better than that! SEE YOUR THERE! Susan Gerend
