For Last Month's Service Awards, Residents Put Heads Together, Create fun 'SAMMI Bunch' Video

The video took well-known themes - but weaved in a Sammamish storyline and images of residents to give a sense of Plateau history.

We at Sammamish Patch like fun. Who doesn't?

So, in case you missed it at last month's  and in the spirit of Friday and the weekend, we're reposting a lively video which tells the story about how Sammamish came together.

Eddie Bishop at AudioAmigo helped produce the piece, which picks up from that popular television show, "The Brady Bunch." Chris and Cary Young and Bryan and Connie Rawson joined Bishop in writing the lyrics.

It also was a team effort and the credits on the video list everyone who participated. Cary Young is executive director of the SAMMI Awards.

Sammamish Patch was a sponsor of the annual Sammamish community service awards, as were other companies and groups.

There is no need to fret, either. There will be news to cover.

But consider this local note a nod of appreciation to those who decided to tell a story of a city, oh, in about 2 minutes and in a way in which people will remember.

Sammamish Patch certainly likes the video's nod to "Star Wars" - as well as all the head bobbing and facial expressions from community members in the boxes.

Speaking of boxes, the producers of this video can actually make a spoof of the "Hollywood Squares," too. Just a thought.

And in the calculus of the news and information world, consider this to be on the information side of the ledger.

It's OK, too, if you're not a fan of fun.

Or as Jan Brady would say: "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia."

Editor's note: If you want to see the original version of "The Brady Bunch" song, click on the other embedded video, which was posted on YouTube. Make sure to lower your volume, though, because it might be a bit loud for some people.
