It's Almost Time for Sammamish Days, but not Before Sammamish Nights

Sammamish hosts two more summer events on Friday and Saturday, one for kids of all ages and another for those with more grownup tastes.

Friday and Saturday will see the return of two of Sammamish’s favorite summer events, Sammamish Days and Sammamish Nights.

Sammamish Days, an all-ages celebration of the many cultures that make up the Sammamish Plateau, will take place on Saturday. The day will begin with a down 228th Avenue Southeast at 10 a.m. then continue with live music and entertainment at both the and . Arts and crafts displays and a number of food vendors round out the event.

One of the highlights of Sammamish Days is the diversity of food on hand from those vendors.

“We try and get as much variety as we can,” Dawn Sanders, city of Sammamish volunteer coordinator, said.

India, Asia, America and more will be represented by a wealth of snacks from which to choose.

As for entertainment, a Spanish storyteller, a Chinese harpist and a puppet show highlight the many different options that will be free to enjoy during Sammamish Days, at least until 3 p.m. when the event wraps up.

Before any of that, though, those with more adult tastes will be able to enjoy Sammamish Nights, a Sammamish Chamber of Commerce event that brings music, dining and wine tasting to the Plateau on Friday.

Sammamish Nights will feature a festive nighttime atmosphere, wine and food tasting, and live music by Ventura Highway Revisited, a local band that specializes in 70s tunes.

“It’s a magical evening,” Sanders said.

Tickets to Sammamish Nights range from $45 for general admission to $65 for VIPs. A VIP ticket includes table seating under a cool tent, a commemorative wine glass, early entrance to the event and more. Regardless of ticket, you must be over 21 to attend.

Parking for both events will be available at  and church. Residents should also keep an eye out for possible parking opportunities at other nearby lots.
