Variety of Turkish Art on Display at City Hall

As a prelude to the upcoming Turkish Bazaar, the Sammamish Arts Commission has brought a variety of Turkish artworks to City Hall.

In advance of this weekend’s , the Sammamish Arts Commission has installed in  a variety of textiles, paintings and photographs by Turkish artists.

Titled “A Turkish Palatte,” the work exhibited ranges from contemporary paintings to traditional textiles, from depictions of nature to urban landscapes.

“It’s a wonderful entry into the bazaar and into the culture,” said Barbara Jirsa of the Sammamish Arts Commission.

The exhibit, and the upcoming Grand Bazaar are continuations of the Arts Commission’s efforts to highlight and embrace different cultures and bring them to the people of Sammamish.

“This is about learning about a culture and making us more aware,” Jirsa said.

The exhibit will be on display on both floors of City Hall until Dec. 12.
