Youth Theatre Mounts My Little Mermaid Jr.

For 30 years, Youth Theatre Northwest (YTN) has served youth from the Puget Sound region with high-quality arts education.

Each year, YTN produces dynamic theatre for thousands of families, introducing young audiences to the magic of the performing arts while inspiring young actors with the magic of creative play and the thrill of live performance.

Take your family on an enchanting journey under the sea to frolic and play with magical creatures under waves of ocean blue.

Based on the story by Hans Christian Andersen and adapted from the popular animation, Disney’s Little Mermaid Jr. shares a story of hope, strength and true love and inspires children to stand tall and find courage when feeling
awkward, afraid or like a “fish out of water.”

Disney’s Little Mermaid opens Friday, January 17 and performs through
Sunday, February 9, 2014. Disney’s Little Mermaid is adapted from the Broadway musical and 1992 animation with lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, music by Alan Menken and book by Doug Wright. Our Youth Theatre production is directed by Kim Douthit with musical direction by Julie Parsons.
Description: Knowing only her home under the sea, Ariel, a young mermaid, longs to be part of the world above where people walk with legs and feet to stroll and dance and leave footprints in the sand.
After saving a dashing prince from drowning, Ariel decides to head toward land, against her father's wishes, and makes a dangerous deal with a sea witch to get there. Ariel has only a few days to win the heart of the prince or she will lose her legs, her dream and her voice forever. Disney’s Little Mermaid Jr. is best for ages 5 and up.
