Big Lots, a national retailer of "closeouts," a wide variety of merchandise other companies are selling to reduce inventory for various reasons, has leased a 37,500-square-foot retail building at Issaquah's Pickering Place.
Big Lots advertises home furnishings, home decor, tailgate gear, electronics, grocery items, and a variety of merchandise on its web site.
Big Lots is preparing to move into a space previously occupied by Leathers Home Furnishings & Accessories. Leathers recently moved across the parking lot to a smaller, 13,600-square-foot space.
The company says the anticipated opening date for the big box Big Lots is Nov. 2, but didn't yet have information about how many people it will employ there.
Trader Joe's plans to move from its Pickering Place location to a larger space on Gilman Boulevard later this year. Altogether, Pickering Place comprises more than 850,000 square feet of retail space along with the approximately 450,000 square foot Costco corporate offices in the mixed-use development.
