Get Out: Weekend Planner June 22-24

Kick off summer the "Highlands way" at Highlands Day, Saturday, June 23 from 10am - 2pm at Blakely Hall and Village Green Park. (Parade line-up starts at 9:15am)

The Highlands Day Americana-theme will be enhanced this year as we celebrate the cultural diversity of Issaquah. Travel around the globe while never leaving Village Green Park and visit hands-on exhibition booths representing different countries - many hosted by YOUR neighbors!

Heritage Parade and Opening Ceremony

The traditional Kids on Bikes parade is back this year! Line up begins at 9:15am at the intersection of Park Drive and 30th Avenue. Kids and adults should decorate their bikes and/or dress in red, white, and blue or in the cultural theme of their choice! The parade will begin at 9:30am, circling Village Green Park. The presentation of the Flag and the National Anthem will conclude the parade and the festival fun will open to everyone!

Festival Fun

The festival venue will feature many fun carnival rides and games! New this year is a portable zip line that will send you flying down Park Drive from Blakely Hall to 25th Avenue! Additional fun includes a colossal swing chair ride, pony rides, train ride, and inflatables. Tickets will go on sale at 9:30am. Tickets will cost $1.00 each (ride prices vary) or $20 for a 4-hours of unlimited fun bracelet. Cash or Credit Cards accepted.

Mel Brooks’ record-breaking, 12-time Tony Award-winner, The Producers is a hysterically outrageous hit! When an out-of-luck Broadway producer and his nervous accountant hatch a plan to mount a guaranteed Broadway flop in order to turn some quick cash, their wrongful scheming goes wildly awry. With swingin’ tunes and a vaudeville feel, this show is loaded with laughs and dazzling choreography that is sure to leave stars in your eyes.

Come shop this giant rummage sale at Good Samaritan Episcopal Church. The event is free and open to the public. You'll find all sorts of treasures to choose from including beautiful furniture, toys, clothes and household items. Proceeds of the sale will help fund upcoming youth mission and service trips. 

  • When: Friday, June 22 and Saturday, June 23, 8:00am
  • Cost: Free

 

Visit the Issaquah Farmers Market at Pickering Barn every Saturday through Oct. 13.

Shop for farm-fresh fruits and vegetables, organic produce selections, vivid floral bouquets, nursery plants, handmade arts and crafts and scrumptious food selections at more than 100 vendor booths!
