Issaquah-Based SanMar Corp to Open Distribution Center in Minnesota

A grand opening ceremony for a new, 580,000 square-foot distribution center is set for Thursday in Shakopee, MN.

Issaquah-based clothing supply giant SanMar Corp. is days away from opening a new 580,000-square-foot distribution building in Minnesota, according to local officials who say they're thrilled with the prospect of 150-300 new jobs.

The company is inviting residents of Minneapolis-suburb Shakopee to a grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. Thursday at the 3700 4th Ave East location. The company has reportedly invested more than $35 million into the new facility through Lake Washington Partners, the company's real estate arm.

The project, one of the larger footprint buildings constructed in Minnesota in recent years, originally broke ground in May 2012. The building is designed as warehousing and distribution center space and currently houses new business, SanMar.

"We’re delighted to open this state-of-the-art building here in Shakopee," says Jordan Lott, President of Lake Washington Partners. "We’ve really felt welcomed by the city and business community in getting this project completed on-time and open for tenants."
