Rick Steves' Europe Staff Critiques Edmonds Restaurants

Rick Steves' Europe staff critiques Edmonds restaurants with 37 reviews of 16 local eateries.

Rick Steves eats lunch out four or five times a week in Edmonds, and said he nearly always goes to Thai Cottage or El Puerto. ("Perhaps with my work, reviewing restaurants 100 days and evenings a year in Europe, I don't want the variety at lunchtime," he says on his website).

But, he recently offered anyone on his staff $20 to go out to lunch at a place they hadn't eaten at in the last year and write up a review to share. On Sept. 25, about half their staff took Steves up on this offer – he handed out 37 twenty-dollar bills, and the team sampled 16 places in town.

"We're thankful to live and work in this wonderful town, and this was a fun way to get to know it a little better. Here's to all the hardworking eateries in Edmonds and to the eaters that keep them in business!," he said on the website.

Those eateries reviewed range from the Baicha Tea Room to Chanterelle to The Cheesemonger's Table and more.

Priya: Where is the Indian restaurant going to be on 196th? SR 99?

Priya: Perhaps you should give Vatika some helpful advice.

It is where the ol Ezekel's Chicken was located. The sign says coming soon. I hope it is not another Bill the Butcher type coming soon.

My advice: get a better cook.
