T-Mobile Makes Push for Unlocked iPhone Users

T-Mobile will have Apple iPhone 4S for demonstration at its stores, even though it will not sell the unit. It is the last major cellular carrier that does not carry the iPhone.

T-Mobile is readying to make the case to existing iPhone users to unlock their phones and to move them to T-Mobile's network.

The T-Mobile retail stores will have iPhone 4S demo units on hand starting Wednesday, Sept. 12, for demonstrations and the company is developing iPhone versions of its apps.

T-Mobile USA, based in Bellevue, is the last major US carrier that does not sell the popular Apple iPhone, but company officials say that more than 1 million users have unlocked their phones from other carriers to move them to T-Mobile's network.

The company says that the iPhones would run on the company's 4G HSPA+ service in our 1900 MHz spectrum, which is available in the Seattle, Las Vegas, Washington DC and the New York metro areas.
