Update: No Waste Management Pickup in Sammamish or Issaquah Wednesday

Waste Management has continued its suspension of residential and commercial service today, Jan. 18, due to the inclement weather.

Waste Management will not be collecting any garbage or recyling in Sammamish or Issaquah Wednesday, Jan. 18. If Wednesday is your collection day, the company will pick up as much as twice your normal amount next week.

Original Story:

Waste Management will not be collecting garbage and recycle materials from its residential or commercial customers on routes with Tuesday service in Sammamish, Issaquah, and other Eastside communities because of icy and snowy roads.

In a press release from Waste Management Northwest headquarters in Kirkland, the company said it would double-up collection next week.

In addition to Sammamish, other areas that will not have collection service Tuesday include unincorporated King County, Redmond, Bothell, as well as Mill Creek and Mukilteo in Snohomish County, and Kirkland.

The company is also delaying commercial collection services to the same areas, said Robin Freedman, Waste Management spokeswoman. Trucks will work commercial routes on Saturday instead.
