Poll's Closed: Readers' Choice Poll: What's the Best Preschool in Sammamish?

Check back at noon to see which school takes home the prize.

Thanks everyone for voting. The poll is now closed and results will be posted later today.

You did a lot of research, checked out all the options, all the teachers, observed the preschoolers at play.

Here's your chance to help the preschool you trust with your little ones' hearts and minds get recognized.

Your can vote for your favorite by voting in our poll and adding your reviews to the listings below:

 (at )

 (at )

Noah's Ark Preschool

Click on the links above and rate the business on its Patch Place listing. You can even leave a review.

The poll will close at 9 a.m. Friday morning, March 9. In the event of a tie, we will break it based on the comments, so please explain your choice.

Noah's Ark is not officially listed in our directory because it has an Issaquah address, but we know it's just across the border and a lot of Sammamish families use it, so we decided to include it on the poll, and we welcome write-in candidates in the comment section below in case we missed one.

Don't see your favorite preschool? Tell us in the comments section. Have a favorite in the next Patch town over? Vote in Redmond

Because our poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results, comments and reviews on Patch Places. Please vote only once per survey, per Patch

I don't see Sammamish Hills Lutheran. We love that preschool.
Jeanne Gustafson (Editor) March 5, 2012 at 01:28 pm
Thanks for telling us, Anne G. Anyone who feels the same, please cast your write-in votes here in the comments.

I LOVE Pine Lake Cooperative Preschool, run through Bellevue College. It is the preschool at the Pine Lake Community Center on 20th and 212th.
It is so wonderful because parents can be involved, the children have different themes each week, and they learn by doing. It incorporates a lot of art and creative learning. They have healthy snacks that the parents provide and help serve, they sing and do fun circle times. It teaches them the perfect skills for kindergarten: taking turns, sitting in circle, and getting along with others. In addition, the grounds are beautiful and they have a lovely play time each day. I can't think of a better place to start a child's love for school. My children loved it there.

Thanks for telling us Denise. Knowing that there are some places not on our official list, we'll be considering write-in comments and reviews of Patch Places in addition to the poll, so keep your nominations coming, everyone.
The Rev'd Dr. Suzi Robertson March 6, 2012 at 06:44 am
We only received this, this morning, but the notice lists last Friday as the cut-off for voting. So, when is the actual cut-off. Additionally, Good Samaritan's Creative Kids Preschool is shown in two different listings: Creative Kids, and Good Samaritan. I noticed that each of them have received votes, but are one entity in the same. How will you add up the votes and display the comments in this case?
Jeanne Gustafson (Editor) March 6, 2012 at 10:08 am
Thanks for pointing out the anomalies, Reverend Robertson, the voting continues until Friday March 9 (story's updated now). We'll combine votes for Creative Kids and Good Samaritan.
We have the same situation as Good Samaritan in that our church and preschool are listed separately. Glory Days Preschool is a ministry of Sammamish Presbyterian Church so if you would combine those two as well, that would be great. Thank you!
Robert Baldino March 6, 2012 at 04:36 pm
Sorry for all of the confusion folks. We'll obviously combine votes where necessary. Thanks!

Creative Kids Pre-School of Good Samaritan Episcopal Church provides a setting for young children to further develop cognitively, emotionally, physically, socially, and spiritually in a caring, loving, and safe enviornment. The diversity of children, families, staff, and teaching/learning opportunities enrich the lives of developing boys and girls.

There is something wrong with this site. When you click on the thread, it takes you straight to this page, and there is no place to vote. I vote for Creative Kids. Please help.
Robert Baldino March 6, 2012 at 09:22 pm
Hey Kirsten. I'm not sure which thread you're talking about, but if it gets you to this page you should be able to see the poll below the text of the article. If not, try reloading the page or see if it works better with a different browser. Regardless, we'll be sure to take your vote into account.
Nolen Holcomb March 6, 2012 at 09:44 pm
Sorry, but I have gone back into it about 10 times, and I only get the graph that shows what percentages are. No place to vote.
Robert Baldino March 6, 2012 at 10:22 pm
Are you on a mobile device? Apparently polls often don't display properly on mobile devices? If you're on a regular computer try clearing your cache and cookies and restarting the browser. Beyond that I'm not sure what else to do.

Sammamish Children's School!! Wonderful science curriculum, dedicated and caring teachers, beautiful building, and huge outdoor play areas.
Kathy March 7, 2012 at 08:09 pm
I agree with Denise-Pine Lake Coop! It's the best! Loving, caring environment, getting the social skills down before entering school and learning while playing! Creative centers, outdoor play, field trips and parent involvement. That is why it is called pre-school. Learning to cooperate and get along with others.
Heather March 8, 2012 at 12:14 am

I vote for Kinder Mundo, which is not listed in the article. My son Gonzalo attends since we arrived to US in 2012. He is quite happy and biligual by now :-)
Jeanne Gustafson (Editor) March 8, 2012 at 10:36 pm

KINDER MUNDO is a excellent school! I highly recommend this school for preschoolers to prepare for entering Kindergarten. My daughter loves her teachers and has learned how to read, speak and sing Spanish. I am very impressed with the healthy and organic snacks and lunch provided to my daughter . I would recommend this school to anyone who wants to prepare their child for entering Kindergarten and learn español! , whether they have had no previous preschool experience or have had some. So happy to have found such a wonderful school!
Jeanne Gustafson (Editor) March 9, 2012 at 01:15 pm
Wow, still a neck and neck race! Voting ends at 9, and remember, we'll be adding together Glory Days + Sammamish Presbyterian, and Creative Kids + Good Samaritan Episcopal entries. Get the vote out!

Marco Yaya March 9, 2012 at 02:25 pm
I vote for Kinder Mundo. My daughter attended almost 3 years before going to Kindergarden and I was impress how prepare she was after attending Kinder Mundo's program. Teachers are great, they show true love and passion for what do, my daughter still talking about her "maestras". The Spanish program is great, my daughter is in an advance level thanks to them!

Yikes! I had an encounter on Tiger Mountain with what I think was a cougar on June 9. We weren'tRead More close enough to see it (thank goodness) but could hear it, and what sounded like another animal dying/being eaten. This was about 3:30 p.m. a couple miles up the trail from Issaquah High School.
Bob McCoy June 12, 2013 at 07:39 am
Jenny Manning, this area lies on the WUI, Wildland-Urban Interface, and we have bears, cougars,Read More bobcats, and other of nature's fauna. Your comment indicates that you have not read my Patch blogs trying to dispel myths and fears of our local predators, and that you have little understanding of our biggest cat, the cougar. I would also venture that you have not availed yourself of the many outreach events held in this area regarding our wildlife. To state you had an "encounter" when you did not even have a 'sighting' is a misuse of clearly defined terminology for wildlife interactions. You might avail yourself of Western Wildlife Outreach's excellent materials regarding cougars and other apex carnivores in the Northwest: http://westernwildlife.org/cougar-outreach-project/cougar-safety/ To have heard "something" might well have been an animal being eaten, but to assume a cougar was having dinner, and the cougar was announcing it to the world, is a bit of a stretch. What, exactly, is the sound made by a cougar while killing a meal? As a stalk and pounce predator, mountain lions are silent in their approach. They efficiently kill, and unless taking down larger prey such as an elk, the prey's struggle is usually short, if any at all. Also, to make sounds while eating is to attract attention, and attention is what cougars avoid. Perhaps, though, you heard a cougar caterwauling? That is a call to attract a mate, one of the few times cougars do not want to avoid attention. Welcome to the Pacific Northwest. Your best way to be safe in our outdoors is to be knowledgeable about our wildlife, and to carry Bear Spray, pretty much in that order.
Ben Stieglitz June 18, 2013 at 02:20 pm
Yes, bears, possums, deer, rabbits, coyotes, and raccoons call Issaquah their homes (I have yet toRead More see a Cougar in person). They are a welcome sight and seem to weave in and out of peoples back yards quite quickly and quietly. I wouldn't have even know there were bears in my yard if it wasn't for a IR security camera I had installed a while back. They are quite peaceful. The bears that show up in our yard, in my experience, are quite scared of people and don't want anything to do with them. They just smell the garbage and want an easy snack. If you keep the garbage area clean and secure you will have no issues other than a pass by and on to the next yard. In my opinion they are a special treat to living in this area and I wouldn't want it any other way. Hope that helps.

What a great idea for an exhibit. Would you be interested in partnering with us to make sure moreRead More people can see it once you've decided on which submissions you'll show? I think it'd be really neat to upload images of the artwork and the stories via our blogging platform. Please let me know if you're interested!
Anne Randall June 1, 2013 at 11:58 am
Absolutely, yes! I did a blog last year on the stories of the artists of the Sammamish Arts FairRead More (still in your archives, called Makers Among Us, under my name), and this would be a perfect way to refresh and continue the blog. I worked with Jeanne Gustafson to get started and she was most helpful. I will alert the curator of the show, and we'll plan on it. We would love to link to and from the artEAST website as well to get come viewers to share. If you have other suggestions, please let me know! Thanks, Anne Randall
