Rock blasting scheduled for three days next week on I-90 east of Snoqualmie Pass

Plan ahead if you're taking a summer drive.

Summer officially starts next week and if your travel plans take you over Interstate 90 east of Snoqualmie Pass, plan ahead to avoid delays due to rock blasting closures and construction.

The Washington State Department of Transportation and contractor crews will close I-90 in both directions from Hyak (milepost 54) to the Price Creek Sno-Park (milepost 61) from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, June 18, Wednesday, June 20, and Thursday, June 21. Due to the nature of this work, closure dates are subject to change.

Drivers may also experience delays east of the pass next week due to rolling slowdowns and single lane closures. Exit 54 westbound is closed 24 hours a day from Monday morning until Saturday morning.
