Update: Fresh Winter Storm Watch Issued

National Weather Service anticipates snow accumulation of as much as nine inches over the next three days.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch Monday morning, saying that after a brief break this morning, the area can expect persistent snow from Monday afternoon through Wednesday, with a "potent" storm entering the region Tuesday night that could result in power outages and hazardous road conditions.

Following is the most recent forecast from Monday morning, Jan. 16:

M.L.King Day: Snow showers, mainly before 4pm. High near 36. South wind between 10 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. 

Tonight: 
Snow showers, mainly after 10pm. Low around 31. South southwest wind between 6 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible. 

Tuesday: 
Snow showers. High near 35. Southwest wind between 5 and 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible. 

Tuesday Night: 
Snow. Low around 28. North northeast wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible. 

Wednesday: 
Snow. High near 36. East northeast wind between 6 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible. 

Wednesday Night: 
Snow before 10pm, then rain. Snow level rising to 2,400 feet. Low around 36. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. 

Thursday: 
Rain. High near 46. Chance of precipitation is 100%.
