'Streaming Live': Salmon Days Unveils 2013 Theme

The new logo and theme was introduced Thursday at the Issaquah Chamber's Innovation in Issaquah luncheon.

This year's Salmon Days Festival will be "streaming live," organizers announced today with the unveiling of the 2013 festival logo.

Almost as fun as the festival itself is guessing the campy theme that will be selected.

Festival officials go all out each year to make it fun, dubbing local business supporters "spawnsors" and volunteers "salmbassadors."

This year, the annual celebration of the return of the salmon run to Issaquah Creek will be held on Oct. 5-6.

The kitschy slogans are more than just tourist bait, however, and last year garnered the festival organization a Gold award from the Washington Festival and Events Association for . In addition, the festival is an economic boon to the area, drawing more than 180,000 attendees annually and an estimated $7.5Β million annual local economic impact, including over $1 million spent directly at the festival.
