Traffic: Expect Rolling Slow Downs on Interstate 90 This Weekend

Nighttime lane closures on Interstate 90 between Bellevue and Seattle will cause delays tonight and this weekend, the Washington State Department of Transportation reported.

Drivers should expect delays this weekend during nighttime lane closures and rolling slowdowns on eastbound Interstate 90 between Seattle and Bellevue. The Washington State Department of Transportation will close the I-90 Express Lanes and two lanes on mainline eastbound I-90 Saturday and Sunday nights, March 3-4.

  • 9 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday
  • 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday

The Washington State Patrol will be assisting with rolling slowdowns to clear eastbound I-90 of all traffic for periods of 30 minutes or less both nights. WSDOT contractor crews will be installing new signs over I-90 for the second stage of the I-90 Two-Way Transit and HOV Operations project. The rolling slowdowns start at midnight and end at 4 a.m. The SR 520 floating bridgeΒ is toll free nightly 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
