Week in Review (Sammamish Style): City Council Goes on a Retreat, Eastlake Beats Skyline in Basketball

Sammamish Patch also offered a variety of things for families and people to do in the city and region.

What a week.

In the past seven days, Sammamish Patch has offered up a variety of news, features and events for people on the Plateau (and those living on the slopes and near Lake Sammamish).

So, in case you missed it, here are links to get you caught up (and especially for those who opted not to watch the Super Bowl).

Here we go:

Monday: Patch real estate columnist Joan Probala reminded homeowners about the importance of preparing their houses for market. Yes, spring is coming and spring is typically when more people go out to shop and just look.

Tuesday: If it's Tuesday, it's the regular feature, , from , a Patch writer. Keep checking each Tuesday about which animals are in need of some good, old-fashioned love and care.

There also was word about the Sammamish City Council going to Suncadia in Cle Elum for a retreat. , another Patch writer, had an uplifting profile of the Options program, which helps special needs students, at Eastside Catholic School.

Wednesday: , who specializes in parenting issues and education writing, offered up great suggestions for summer camps for Sammamish kids. dug through the Sammamish police reports and learned that an adult son hit his father and that a motorist, who was pulled over, really questioned a King County sheriff deputy.

Also, spring is coming.

Oh, yes, under "Friday," we've included the link to all the great things to do for families, real estate fans and Sammamish residents.

Thursday: Sammamish Patch reminded people that Lunar New Year had arrived at that there would be a celebration at City Hall. Robert Baldino looked at the Lake Washington School District levy, which voters will decide on Feb. 8. Supporters say more room is needed at Eastlake High School and other campuses.

Oh, yes: Sammamish Patch also ran photosof a recent visit to the city's skatepark. Young people flew in the air. Here's the responsible thing to say: Helmets can protect you.

Friday: Sammamish Patch listed, of all things, a one click guide to all the guides the site posted during the week. King County Metro Transit riders in Sammamish also took note of changes on two routes in the city.

Saturday: By early morning, photos were posted on the cross-town basketball games involving Eastlake High School and Skyline High School. Eastlake returned home the winners in both boys' and girls' varsity games. Also, Sammamish readers learned about Amy Bearman, a Skyline student, who does well in gymnastics and the classroom (she's very smart and has a 4.5 GPA).
