Community Day of Service - Make a Difference in One Day

Six Hundred Volunteers from Sammamish Churches to Rally and Help 40 Seattle Not-for-profits in a Single Work Day

Sammamish Hills Lutheran
and Pine Lake Covenant Churches will engage hundreds of Sammamish volunteers to roll up their sleeves and work at numerous not-for-profit organizations on the Eastside for the  Community Day of Service on May 10, 2014.

Event organizers anticipate mobilize upwards of 600 volunteers to work at almost 40 local not-for-profit organizations on the Eastside in a single work day.

Participating agencies include: Habitat for Humanity, Seattle Tilth, Lifewire, Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank, Cougar Mountain Zoo, Eastside Friends of Seniors, Habitat ReStore, Vine Maple Place and Seattle Union Gospel Mission. This marks the third year for this community-wide initiative originated by Sammamish Hills Lutheran Church. More than 300 volunteers signed on to serve in last year’s event.

This year, Sammamish Hills Lutheran Church is partnering with Pine Lake Covenant Church. The day will conclude with  celebrations at each church featuring dinner and a slideshow chronicling the day’s events.
