Creative Kids Preschool, voted 2012 Best Preschool in Sammamish by Patch readers, will become Good Samaritan Episcopal School in Fall 2013. The new Head of School, Joan Sullivan, will begin enrolling students for the 2013-2014 school year in January 15th in addition to creating enhanced programs for children ages 30 months-five years (pre-threes to pre-kindergarten), before and after extended care hours, and a unique afternoon science class for four and five year olds held one to two days per week. With enough interest, the school may also add a kindergarten class. Ms. Sullivan comes to the school with 18 years experience in administering excellent preschool, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten science programs. The curriculum will include Godly Play, a unique way for children to explore through handcrafted story sets how people learn to live together in community. Godly Play has been used all over the United States by many denominations for 30 years, as well as in Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Finland, Spain, Australia, Tanzania and many other countries .

Good Samaritan School is hosting a Public Open House and Fall 2013 Registration on Tuesday, January 15, 7 pm, Good Samaritan Episcopal Church, 1757 244th Avenue NE, Sammamish, 98074 (adjacent to City of Sammamish’s new Maintenance Operations Center). Meet Ms. Sullivan, hear the school’s education philosophy, learn about the curriculum, ask questions and find out how to enroll your child for the 2013-2014 school year. Find additional information at www.goodsamepiscopal.org, joan.goodsamaritan@hotmail.com or (425) 283-9789.

Consistent with the values of the Episcopal Church, Good Samaritan School welcomes all, regardless of race, religion, nationality or ethnic origin. They celebrate each family's uniqueness and encourage families to share important celebrations from their own family and faith traditions with the Good Samaritan School community.

We too, love having our Farmers' Market return! Opening day was a bit weather-challenged. ThankRead More you merchants for enduring the wet and cold for our new extended hours! What a wonderful sight will return to the plaza when the sunshine calls back all the families with happy, giggling children. Market day is a date of dinner out (side) & shopping (vegetables, fruits and now HedgeHog Toffee) with my husband. Doesn't get much better than that! SEE YOUR THERE! Susan Gerend
