Eastside Baby Corner Helping Kids Thrive Luncheon

Eastside Baby Corner (EBC) will be holding its 3rd Annual Luncheon on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at the Bellevue Hilton - 300 112th Avenue SE, Bellevue, WA. EBC is excited to welcome Seattle Times columnist, Jerry Large as the Keynote Speaker and Lori Matsukawa of KING TV as emcee.

Jerry Large has served as copy editor, assistant city editor, reporter, editorial writer, and now columnist in his 30-year career at the Seattle Times. Awarded a Knight Fellowship to Stanford in 2000, he also received the 2009 Dr. Samuel E. Kelly Award (for contributions to diversity) from the UW Multicultural Alumni Association. His interest in history, social justice and race are rooted in his personal history; as a columnist he tries to, “…encourage other people to think more about how we came to be where we are and how we might keep making improvements to our constantly-evolving country.”

Over 450 local community leaders are expected to attend. Money raised will be used to assist EBC in continuing its work of accepting donations of children’s clothing and goods from community donors, as well as purchasing essentials such as baby food, formula, car seats, and diapers. Thanks to donations and community involvement, EBC annually distributes nearly $3,000,000 worth of goods for children from birth to age 12.
