Food Literacy: Knowing What and How We Eat

What is a whole food? How does sharing meals change what and how you eat? What should you eat for better work and school performance? In this presentation, Bastyr University dietitians will give a “Nutrition 101” on what’s in the food we eat; farmers and urban gardeners will discuss what’s in season; and authors and educators will share their favorite food reads for the entire family.

Presented by Philip Lee, Readers to Eaters.

Inspiring Cooks, Nourishing Communities

KCLS invites everyone to find A Place at the Table!
We'll toss around fresh ideas about food, cooking, nutrition and growing and using locally produced food. In addition to offering new food ideas, preparation and planning skills, and handy online classes, videos and resources, the series will help everyone create a nourishing table by accepting non-perishable food donations, to be distributed to local King County food banks.
