Simple Measures

This season,
Simple Measures will present a very special concert available only to Sammamish
concertgoers, courtesy of the Sammamish Arts Commission. The
Krishnaswami-Salman Duo, with Rajan Krishnaswami on cello and Mark Salman on
piano, will perform a concert which will consist of French music on the first
half, with the main work to be the delightfully playful sonata by Francis
Poulenc, which is reminiscent of French cabaret music with American Jazz
influences. On the second half will be the sonata by German composer Richard
Strauss. This is an early work of Strauss, exhibiting youthful exuberance and
unbridled enthusiasm in the style of the late 19th century Romantic period.
