Community Corner

Volunteer Party at Sammamish Landing

Come out to improve local habitat with Friends of the Cedar River Watershed and City of Sammamish!
Sammamish Landing is an 8.23 acre site located along the eastern shore of Lake Sammamish and is the only stretch of shoreline property along Lake Sammamish that is in public ownership within City limits. The southern section of Sammamish Landing contains invasive plants that threaten to spread and degrade habitat. Volunteers will work to restore this important shoreline to a more natural and sustainable state by removing invasive plants this spring and summer and replanting with native trees and shrubs in the fall.

Join us to improve habitat by weeding invasive plants and creating compost platforms! This project offers a great opportunity to learn about the local environment, meet the community, and get involved for a good cause!
