Chinese Culture and the Year of the Rabbit Celebration

Sammamish Arts Commission to Celebrate Chinese Culture and the Year of the Rabbit Art, Music, Dance, Tea and Demonstrations.

The Sammamish Arts Commission will offer the community a celebration of Chinese Culture on Saturday, Feb 5th, from 1pm – 6pm in Sammamish City Hall. The afternoon will be filled with Chinese dance, music, martial arts, painting and calligraphy, crafts, a fashion show of traditional Chinese clothing and traditional Chinese tea and food tastings. The event is free to the public.

Accompanying the celebration will be an exhibition of selected works by renowned Chinese artist, Professor Hongduan Yang, whose work has been recognized world-wide for excellence and for his efforts to promote cultural exchange between China and the Western world. The event is will be a wonderful opportunity to experience and participate in the richness of a culture that adds to the community fabric of this region. The event and exhibition are sponsored by the Sammamish Arts Commission, the City of Sammamish and 4Culture. The Sammamish Arts Commission offers a year-round series of exhibitions in the City Hall Commons Gallery with a primary focus on regional artists.

Sammamish City Hall is located high atop the Sammamish Plateau, at the intersection of 228th Ave. SE and SE 8th Street. Exhibition is on view during regular City Hall hours Monday through Friday 8:30am – 5pm. Directions can be found on the City's website.
