Kiwanis Will Help Repair Computers and Assist With Computer Recycling

Run down? Fighting a virus? Are things taking longer to process? If your computer’s list of maladies seems to outnumber yours this cold and flu season, let the experts in the Issaquah Kiwanis’ Young Professionals Club identify and help fix the problem at a PC Clinic.

The Kiwanis Young Professionals will run hardware diagnostics, scrub computers of viruses and spyware, do performance fine tuning, and offer advice and tips. All services are free with donations gladly accepted to support Kiwanis’ local community service (hey—that’s quite a bargain considering what some of these Young Professionals charge Microsoft on an hourly rate!).

Community members need only bring their computer and power cord; the Young Professionals will have monitors, keyboards, mice, and peripherals to plug in to do the testing.

Think your computer is beyond help? The Kiwanians will also offer free recycling for old computers, laptops, and monitors (no keyboards, mice, copiers, scanners, or printers, please).

The PC Clinic is part of Kiwanis International’s One Day event, which challenges Kiwanians around the world to join together for a day of service. In this spirit, members of the local Issaquah club will also be scanning documents at the Historical Society, cleaning blackberries and ivy at local parks, and collecting items for Eastside Baby Corner at grocery and drug stores.

Editor's note: This information is from the Kiwanis community service announcement.
