Historic Frank Lloyd Wright Home for Sale in Sammamish

The 1,900-square-foot Brandes house on Pine Lake Plateau is for sale for $1.45 million

The Brandes House, one of only three Frank Lloyd Wright-designed homes in Washington, is for sale.

The home, which is tucked away on 3.25 acres on Pine Lake Plateau on 212th Ave. SE in Sammamish, was added to the National Historic Register in 1994.

The house was built by Ray Brandes’ construction company in 1953 in Wright’s “Usonian” style, a spare form designed for economy, with no basements and low roofs, designed to be affordable. Now it’s on the market for $1.45 million. It was last purchased in 2008 from relatives of Brandes for $1.5 million, but the current owners plan to retire elsewhere, said Jane Powers, one of the listing agents for the property.
