BEE Careful Out There!

District staff found this wasp nest in a meter box.

Our meter readers have encountered all kinds of critters in meter boxes, including spiders, snakes, mice, salamanders and frogs, among others.  Last week, while attempting to read a customer meter, one of our meter readers came across a large wasp nest on the underside of a meter box lid.  The supervisor was contacted and assisted the meter reader with the removal of the nest from the meter box.  Removing the nest was necessary to prevent possible injury from stings to District employees while conducting their meter reading duties. Summer brings out the wasps and yellow jackets so "bee" careful out there!
