Local Author Reaches Top Ten

Help local author, Kim Hornsby reach her dream of getting back into the top ten on Kindle by clicking on her FREE book today.

This is exciting, heady stuff, having a novel on Amazon. Watching the stats for the last few days has been extremely uplifting for this Sammamish Author.

My book The Dream Jumper's Promise, a mystery set on Maui, has been free since Christmas day and is FREE again today. You'll have to pay for it tomorrow if you missed my free Kindle days.

Amazon has a program called Kindle Direct Publishing Select that allows authors to offer five free days in the 2 month period they are enrolled. This helps get your numbers up and consequently helps get more visibility than just your friends, family and neighbors. The Select program insures your exclusivity to Amazon for 60 days.

On Christmas night my novel went from #48 to #14 to #10. I stopped looking when it reached #10 and went to bed. It was too exciting. I was happy dancing all over the house even though this number only means that a lot of people downloaded it. Nothing more. At this point at 8:39 am on Thursday the 27th, I'm at #21 for Women's Fiction free and #42 for Commercial Fiction, the two categories I chose for this novel. Still exciting. I have 2086 downloads from the last few days, which I believe is pretty good.

If you can find it in your heart to click on "buy" it would cost you nothing today. And I'd be most appreciative. Even if you don't have what one of my friends called a "Fancy Reading Device" you can put it on your PC and read that way. It takes less than a minute for it to download. Even if you don't read, you can help out this author by clicking 'buy'. Go ahead, make my day.

And now, I'm off to my real job at Macy's RTC to probably do a day of returns. Thank you to everyone who takes a moment to do this.

As per the Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing Select Program (Phew!) my novel went free again Friday and Saturday and got over 10,500 downloads! It stayed #2 all yesterday in Women's Fiction and Contemporary Fiction FREE. Looking forward to this translating into some sales! Thanks anyone who downloaded and supported a local author. Kim
